The client, wanting a low energy home, has included air source heating, large PV arrays, electrical storage and whole home heat recovery. Designed to have a predicted energy efficiency rating of 98 (A+) and a Environmental Impact (co2) rating of 99 (A+) the scheme sets out to have a low impact not just visually, but also environmentally. The design, to meet planning height restrictions, is a low, green roofed home. With its large array of rooflights, triple glazed windows and high levels of insulation is aims to be a bright, energy efficient home. Constructed from context sensitive materials with its living roof, it will blend subtly into its setting whilst delivering a modern, modest eco-home.
