Rogreen Nursery is a new build nursery school on a tight inner London school site. The phased projected required the erection of a new modern nursery building on the playground of the existing building whilst still in operation. Once completed the exiting building was then demolished and the new facility completed.
The new building maximises the school site available. The vision was to create an unique multistorey nursery with a large ‘play balcony’ and roof garden to offer maximum playground space.
The building is clad in locally sourced sweet chestnut and was constructed from a timber prefabricated wall panel system on an internally exposed glulam frame. This reduces the carbon footprint of the building and increased construction time.
